EP27 "Albacore"

The month of March is long gone and I haven't been finding the time to update this blog. but I finally put out a new episode.

Lately a few bands have been getting me stoked.
This Is Hell is such a rad band and I played a track off their newest release, Misfortunes. The hardcore scene has a great band on their hands and also with another outfit I played by the name of XO Skeletons. Electronica influenced, a perfect blend of noise and melody, this Wes Eisold (Give Up The Ghost, Some Girls) fronted side-project makes me excited about the future of this genre and I haven't been able to delete them from my iPod playlist.

As well on the harder side of things, another thing getting me stoked is the Toronto indie label,
Gorgeous Industries. I played The Smile from their roster, which also includes legendary (in these parts) and now defunct Katja, as well as Akroid and August. All of the label's releases come with beautiful artwork and liners. Check out their label here.

On the pop side, I played new tracks from
Gnarls Barkley and Tokyo Police Club. You will be reading about both these bands this year in various newsprint and internet blogs.

Special thanks to Scott at Gorgeous Industries for the discs and artwork.

Take care. (ryan)
