EP27 "Albacore"

The month of March is long gone and I haven't been finding the time to update this blog. but I finally put out a new episode.

Lately a few bands have been getting me stoked.
This Is Hell is such a rad band and I played a track off their newest release, Misfortunes. The hardcore scene has a great band on their hands and also with another outfit I played by the name of XO Skeletons. Electronica influenced, a perfect blend of noise and melody, this Wes Eisold (Give Up The Ghost, Some Girls) fronted side-project makes me excited about the future of this genre and I haven't been able to delete them from my iPod playlist.

As well on the harder side of things, another thing getting me stoked is the Toronto indie label,
Gorgeous Industries. I played The Smile from their roster, which also includes legendary (in these parts) and now defunct Katja, as well as Akroid and August. All of the label's releases come with beautiful artwork and liners. Check out their label here.

On the pop side, I played new tracks from
Gnarls Barkley and Tokyo Police Club. You will be reading about both these bands this year in various newsprint and internet blogs.

Special thanks to Scott at Gorgeous Industries for the discs and artwork.

Take care. (ryan)

EP26 "Weirdo Bizarro"

This month's episode features some new music from:

Weerd Science
Former Coheed & Cambria drummer, Josh Eppard from Kingston, NYC has a new record coming out this year, entitled, "Sick Kids", which is a follow-up to "Friends And Nervous Breakdowns", one of my favorite rap/hip-hop releases ever. weerdscience.com

Teenage Bottlerocket
Pop-punk superheroes based out of Laramie, Wyoming are back with "Warning Device", a 13 song pogo-fest out now on Red Scare Records. If you love the Ramones, then you'll love....

Vampire Weekend
Straight out of New York, the four members of Vampire Weekend met while attending Colombia University. They became public noticed through various blogs and had their single, "Cape Cod Kwassi Kwassi" named #67 on Rolling Stones Top 100 of 2007.

EP25 "Put That In Your Coppers"

It's the end of January and it's fucking cold outside. I can't wait for Spring.
I've been listening to a lot of music lately being cooped up indoors.
This month I played a pretty good variety of genres as I try to every month.

Check out Daughters, they are my band of the moment this month and it looks like there's a brand new album being recorded for release later this year. So I'm pretty fucking stoked for that.

Hope you liked the show. ryan
